So, I know you are all going to think it is crazy that I am posting two days in a row. This is a rareity for me to be able to get on 2 days in a row. But, we had some free time and a busy week ahead so the roomies and I decided to go ahead and come out to the internet cafe tonight.
Some important events that happened that I forgot to write in my last post:
Last Saturday and this Saturday we got to experience the COMPO Life. The Compo is the little communities on the outskirts of Huancane. Last Saturday we went to a community for church service. The church in this community was started a few years ago by another missionary named Rick. It was a fast rapidly growing church, but lately it has gone down hill. Some of the people have gone back to their fiesta ways and others have gotten involved in a cult group so please be praying for this community. When we went there were only 2 people at the church service a father and son. This community needs a great deal of prayer.
The other community we went to this past Saturday was on the opposite side of the mountain here in Huancane. It was the church´s 5th anniversory which is a big deal in Peru. The worship service had about 15 belivers at it which was awesome. It was very long! It lasted 5 hours they sang pretty much all of the songs in their native language Aymara which is very challenging to sing for us English speakers. They also had 4 speakers so it was pretty long. Then after the service we had ¨dinner on the grounds¨. This is where they bring in boiled potatoes and beans. It was pretty good especially since the service was 5 hours and we were all very hungry!!
We had a blast this weekend hanging out with the Moho Team. They are such a lively bunch and we love just spending some relaxing time with them. We watched Lord of the Rings with them and played volleyball with them and Pastor Ruban and Louisa. It was a blast!
Today we went to Juilica with the Moho team and Pator Ruban and Louisa! We had such a blast and quite the little adventure. We helped the Moho Team buy some presents for family back home and we bought a cake for Maggie, Tim and Jessica´s birthdays. We ate at a pretty fancy resteruant and then got to eat the cake for the Birthday it was a blast! I got to eat lasagna and just had a really fun day!!
Thank you all for your support, prayers and encouragement they mean so much!!
